Wijnen

Deze wijngaard van 0,214 hectare (21 a 40) ligt op een bodem van limono-argileux op 254 meter hoogte en is oost-zuidoostelijk georiënteerd. De Chardonnay wijnstokken zijn aangeplant in 1999 op een densiteit van 10.000 stokken per hectare. De manuele oogst vond plaats op 4 september 2011 in kratjes van 5 kg. De élevage gebeurde op 50% nieuwe eik. De 1.521 flessen werden gebotteld op 6 december 2012. Bio gecertifieerd.

Les Monts de Boncourt zijn dus gelegen op een terroir van alluvialen van klei en mergel (terroir argilo-marneux alluvionnaire). Rijkelijke en complexe Chardonnay. De grote, nabijgelegen stenen stapelmuur (murger) slaat de warmte overdag op en geeft ze ’s nachts af, wat voor een microklimaat zorgt. Ongetwijfeld één van onze favoriete witte wijnen van het moment...

87-89 Stephen Tanzer - vinous.com (Januari 2013)
(like the last two domain wines, this was tasted from tank): Bright, pale red. Slightly reduced aromas of raspberry and flowers. Juicy, supple and savory, with sappy red fruit flavors complicated by herbs and minerals. Uncompromisingly dry wine with ripe, smooth tannins. Should make a very good CNV.

Potel

Nicolas Potel's wines have a strong following in the UK, the United States and Japan and for good reason. His wide portfolio of both domaine and négociant wines can be absolutely delicious, as proven by this year's blind tasting back in August, whereupon a couple of his 2011s surpassed more illustrious names. Certainly he has had a rather tumultuous career since the death of his hugely respected and influential father and yet few winemakers exude positivity as much as Nicolas. (…) Nicolas always comes back, reinventing himself with the common theme of top-notch winemaking. (…) Essentially, he wants to return to his roots, those that I am sure he dreamed of when working alongside his father in the 1990s … Potel's range offers something for everyone, whether it is an entry-level Bourgogne Rouge or a Montrachet and the bonus is that they are often well priced.
