IN DE PERS 88 Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate (Issue #218 - April 2015) – erobertparker.com - From the famous Pomerol producer and owner of L’Eglise Clinet, Denis Durantou has turned out a Castillon made from a blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. Typical of his wines, the terrific purity, texture and overall equilibrium are flawless. Deep ruby/purple-tinged, with sweet black cherry, plum and black currant fruit, the wine has vivid purity, good acidity and ripe tannin. It is medium-bodied, opulent and best drunk over the next 5-7 years. 87-88 Robert Parker Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate (Issue #206 - April 2013) – erobertparker.com - From proprietor Denis Durantou, this excellent Castillon exhibits layers of black cherry and black raspberry fruit intertwined with notions of spring flowers, toast and lead pencil shavings. Medium-bodied, supple, round and generous, it is ideal for drinking over the next 5-7 years. 88-90 Neal Martin – Wine Journal (April 2013) – erobertparker.com - The Montlandrie was picked between 9th and 12 of October, a blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc aged in 50% new oak. The bouquet is more sedate and more reserved than the Les Cruzelles or La Chenade at this stage – you have to coax out the aromas more. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, quite supple tannins. The acidity is just about perfect and there is great poise on the grippy, saline finish. Fine. Jane Anson - Top 10 affordable Bordeaux - decanter.com (28 december 2017) - I couldn't finish without adding one Denis Durantou wine... if you do see them, snap them up. Durantou is without doubt one of France's most talented winemakers, and Montlandrie has been owned by him since 2009... and this is one of the leading lights ... An accomplished, succulent wine. |
