IN DE PERS

92 Neal Martin - The Wine Advocate - robertparker.com (Maart 2018)
The 2015 Clos Rene, perhaps the best Pomerol cru to the west of the appellation, has a fragrant bouquet with blackberry, raspberry, rose petal and mineral scents that are very nicely focused and display good vigor. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite classic in style (as Clos René usually is) but with plenty of freshness on the cedar and tobacco-tinged finish. This is a very promising Pomerol that deserves 4 or 5 years in bottle. Anticipated maturity: 2020 - 2035.

91-93 Neal Martin – The Wine Advocate Issue #224 – erobertparker.com (April 2016)
A blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Malbec, the 2015 Clos Rene has a perfumed raspberry preserve and crushed strawberry-scented bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannin, a mixture of red and black fruit with a very refined, pastille-like, spicy finish. This is a lovely Pomerol to enjoy over the next 10-15 years, certainly one of the best offerings from the sandier soils on the western sector of the appellation. Drink: 2020-2040.

87-89 Antonio Galloni – Vinous - vinous.com (April 2016)
The 2015 Clos René is a pretty, open-knit wine with lovely fruit presence and fine overall balance. Silky tannins give this mid-weight, fruity Pomerol plenty of near term appeal. Sweet red stone fruit, mint and rose petal add nuance throughout.

17/20 Jancis Robinson – jancisrobinson.com (April 2016)
Dark and glowing. Both fresh and succulent on the nose. Round and ripe. Lots of fun even if fairly alcoholic and upfront. No excess of oak. Drink: 2024-2036.
