Diep robijnrood. Antonio Galloni schetst een “very harmonious and sensual” wijn en scoort prompt 91-93.

The 2015 Montlandrie, matured in 45% new oak, has a very succinct and cohesive bouquet with blackberry, raspberry, briary and light espresso scents. The wood is beautifully assimilated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, perfectly pitched acidity, a little savory and dried blood surfacing toward the finish to complete a glorious wine that fulfills its promise from barrel. Superb. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting. Drink 2020-2035.

92 Neal Martin - The Wine Advocate - robertparker.com (Maart 2018)
The 2015 Montlandrie was precocious out of barrel but now it has learned some manners and blossomed into a more refined and sophisticated Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, the 45% new oak beautifully assimilated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, perfectly pitched acidity, a little savory and dried blood surfacing toward the finish to complete a glorious wine that fulfills its promise from barrel. I suspect this will be longer lasting than many will allow it. Anticipated maturity: 2019 - 2035.

91-93 Neal Martin – The Wine Advocate Issue #224 – erobertparker.com (April 2016)
The 2015 Montlandrie is a blend of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, picked between September 29 and October 8, and matured in 45% new oak. This is perhaps more precocious on the nose compared to Denis Durantou's La Chenade and Les Cruzelles 2015s, gradually revealing an attractive floral, dried rose petal/pot pourri scent as it opens in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite grippy in the mouth, the acidity nicely judged here and again, very harmonious and sensual on the finish. You could almost whisk this out of barrel and drink this now, but preferably, give it 4-5 years in bottle. Drink: 2019-2032.

92-93 James Suckling – jamessuckling.com (Maart 2016)
A solid core of fruit here. It’s so sexy and exotic with juicy fruit, velvety tannins and a long finish. Bright acidity. Loving it.

93 Antonio Galloni - vinous.com (Februari 2018)
The 2015 Montlandrie is another stellar wine from Denis Durantou. Dark, sumptuous and alluring, the 2015 is going to be virtually impossible to resist in its youth. The blackberry jam, graphite, savory herb, lavender, licorice and crushed rock flavors are remarkably rich and vivid in the glass. As good as the 2015 is today, it also has tons of underlying tannin that is going to need a bit of time to resolve itself. The blend is 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink 2021-2030.

90-93 Antonio Galloni - vinous.com (April 2016)
The 2015 Montlandrie shows just how appealing and delicious the wines of Castillon are this year. Plump, juicy and giving, the 2015 wraps around the palate with striking depth and creaminess. There is plenty of tannin lurking beneath, but it is nearly buried by the intensity of the fruit. Far from an easygoing wine, the 2015 Montlandrie is going to need a few years to be at its best. This is an impressive showing. Montandrie is 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon brought in between September 5 and October 6.

16/20 Jancis Robinson – jancisrobinson.com (April 2016)
Denis Durantou. 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. 45% new oak. Dark healthy crimson. Sweet and open on the nose - charming even without great concentration. Very sweet start with marked acidity. Not, unlike some Castillons, like a St-Émilion. But competently made. Drink: 2020-2026.

90-93 James Molesworth - Wine Spectator – winespectator.com (Maart 2016)
There's some zing to this, with black currant, cherry and plum fruit laced with a mouthwatering note of dried anise. This gets a floral lift through the finish, with a graphite note building as well.

91 James Lawther MW - Decanter Magazine – decanter.com (April 2016)
Owned by Denis Durantou's (L'Eglise-Clinet). Vineyard restructured since 2009. Beautiful Merlot expression: berry fruit with a hint of chocolate. Lovely depth of fruit and tannins. Energy and depth on the palate then tannins build to a long finish. Drink: 2020-2030.

93 Tim Atkin – timatkin.com (April 2016)
There’s only 5% Cabernet Sauvignon in Denis Durantou’s wine, but it’s remarkable what it brings to the blend. Violet-perfumed, with plum, cassis and blackcurrant leaf complemented by stylish oak and a chalky, minerally freshness. Drink: 2020-2030.

Montlandrie

Jane Anson - Top 10 affordable Bordeaux - decanter.com (28 december 2017) - I couldn't finish without adding one Denis Durantou wine... if you do see them, snap them up. Durantou is without doubt one of France's most talented winemakers, and Montlandrie has been owned by him since 2009... and this is one of the leading lights ... An accomplished, succulent wine.
