The 2015 Saint-Romain En Jarron has a backward, reluctant bouquet despite coaxing from the glass. This just didn't want to come out and play. The palate is more expressive but still reserved with light citrus notes, apple peelings, but reserved and rather austere towards the finish. Drink 2017-2021.

Full yellow-gold. Exotic aromas of pineapple, orange, spices and lichee. A bit less bright and interesting in the middle palate than on the nose; this shows good weight and texture owing to the southern exposure of the vines but comes across as a bit one-dimensional as it doesn't show the reductive complexity that might have come from more contact with the lees. In a distinctly ripe style, with harmonious acidity and a lot of unabsorbed CO2. Finishes with good persistence.

Sinds 2003 was Maison de Montille een négoce voor witte Bourgogne, met Alix de Montille als drijvende kracht. Zij is een gepassioneerde dame, echtgenote van Jean Marc Roulot uit Meursault en één van de beste wijnmakers van haar generatie. Haar werkwijze is rechtlijnig en integer, haar obsessies zijn kwaliteit en authenticiteit. Alix streeft naar lineaire en minerale wijnen met allure en klasse die thioshoren op "les Grandes Tables" en bij de allerfijnste gerechten.
