The 2015 Barbera d'Asti La Crena is dense, powerful and packed with fruit. An intense, dark wine, the 2015 has layers of mineral and floral notes in the background that need time to emerge. It would be a shame to open the 2015 anytime soon. I always find La Crena only truly blossoms with time in bottle. Here, too, the style seems a bit laid back relative to the recent past. Drink 2022-2030.
92 Monica Larner – robertparker.com - The Wine Advocate Issue #237 (Juni 2018)
The 2015 Barbera d'Asti La Crena shows an evolved and sophisticated personality. Indeed, this wine is released one year later compared to a Barbera from Alba because fruit from neighboring Asti requires extra time to open. The nose is redolent of black fruit with background notes of wet earth and crushed mineral. These mineral tones give the wine an almost salty quality that would pair perfectly next to ham or grilled sausage. The wine's natural acidity is also ideal for those fatty foods. The vines were planted between 1932 and 1935. Drink 2018-2028.
Hard to go wrong with anything they make. Antonio Galloni - vinousmedia.com
I have been purchasing Vietti wines since the 1971 vintage, and they never disappointed… In top vintages, these big-styled Barolos easily last three decades or more. Robert Parker Jr. - robertparker.com CurradoIf forced to inhabit a desert island that only served the wines of a single producer, I would want Luca Currado to be that supplier. He excels at everything he does from his castle perch at the heart of Castiglione Falletto. Monica Larner - robertparker.com |
