The 2015 Doisy-Daëne has a very refined bouquet, extremely pure with honey, white flowers, touches of quince and beeswax. This is classy, refined and sophisticated. The palate is very well defined with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and vibrant with a precise and quite persistent finish that is very classy. Superb. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting. Dink 2021 - 2040.

96 Neal Martin - The Wine Advocate - robertparker.com (Maart 2018)
The 2015 Doisy Daene has a wonderful, vibrant bouquet with beautifully delineated honeyed fruit and superb mineralité. The palate is extremely well balanced with a killer line of acidity, very focused with pineapple, apricot, quince and mineral toward the detailed finish that is brimming with energy and vigor. What a great Doisy Daene this is going to be (if you can resist the temptation to open a bottle!). Anticipated maturity: 2022 - 2055.

95-97 Neal Martin – The Wine Advocate Issue #224 – erobertparker.com (April 2016)
The 2015 Doisy-Daene has a detailed bouquet, very correct, nothing showy or flamboyant as is typical of Denis Dubourdieu's Barsac. The palate is extremely well balanced and very pure: citrus fruit infusing the honeyed botrytis, veins of white peach and quince, leading to a very precise and sustained finish that leaves you with a smile on your face...and the wine ain't even finished yet! Just a wonderful wine - full of class and nascent joie-de-vivre. Chapeau Denis! Drink: 2019-2050.

95-96 James Suckling – jamessuckling.com (Maart 2016)
Wow. This is really impressive with a fabulous density and style. So much mushroom, almond and dried apple, apricot character. Fresh and bright. Joyous.

18/20 Jancis Robinson – jancisrobinson.com (April 2016)
Bright greenish gold. Complex, immediately appealing nose. Racy yet with weight. A very superior wine. Real attack and structure. I wonder what L'Extravagant is like?! Really very rewarding and compelling. Lots of substance but not at all heavy. Such drive and energy here! Drink: 2026-2050.

93-96 James Molesworth - Wine Spectator – winespectator.com (Maart 2016)
Rippling with energy, this is pure and refined already, showing clearly defined chamomile, peach, pear and apricot notes that are bright and engaging. Still tight but very long, showing ample richness, with minerality in reserve.

93 Ian d’Agata - Decanter Magazine – decanter.com (April 2016)
Very lemony and floral, with precise, delicate aromas and flavours of citrus and saffron. A gentle wine – almost dainty in fact – and very pure, with lipsmacking acidity. Denis Dubourdieu said he won’t likely keep this in barrique for longer than 12 months. Drink: 2020-2035.

17/20 Jean-Marc Quarin – quarin.com (April 2016)

95 Tim Atkin – timatkin.com (April 2016)
The straight Doisy-Daëne is less sweet than the Extravagant bottling (…), with 136 grams of sugar, and is Semillon, as opposed to Sauvignon-based. Typically refreshing and well balanced with the classic Barsac acidity complementing the peach and apricot fruit, this is delicate, perfumed and stylishly oaked. Drink: 2018-2028.

Doisy Daëne

Doisy Daëne is 2nd Cru Classé Barsac en sinds 1924 eigendom van de familie van Denis en Florence Dubourdieu. Denis is professor, wijnmaker, Decanter Man of the Year 2016 en wereldwijd dé refentie inzake vinificatie van witte wijn.
