La Chenade laat je nooit in de steek! Jaarlijks levert het méér dan onberispelijke kwaliteit tegen een zeer redelijke prijs. Deze bovenmaatse Lalande de Pomerol wordt gemaakt door de briljante Denis Durantou van l’Eglise Clinet en is afkomstig van het gedeelte van Château Les Cruzelles dat met Graves is bezaaid.

De 1.700 kistjes 2016 zullen bestaan uit 80% Merlot en 20% Cabernet Franc die nu een élevage genieten in 40% nieuwe eik. De "grenzeloze" neus vertoont kersjes en framboosjes met een heerlijke vanilletoets als bekroning. In de mond is de zuivere concoctie van rode bessen gestoeld op een chassis dat energie en drive demonstreert. Nochtans blijft de verleiding zeer floraal en laat een epische fraîcheur de tannine feesten in de mond. La Chenade 2016 is opnieuw beklijvend en harmonieus en dat tot in de mooie finale. Simpelweg onweerstaanbaar!

The 2016 La Chenade, the Lalande de Pomerol from Denis Durantou, was bottled at the end of May 2018. It has a beautiful, well-defined bouquet that offers charming scents of wild strawberry, red currant and crushed stone. The palate is medium-bodied with an almost Burgundian tannin profile. This La Chenade is silky in texture and perfectly balanced, revealing palpable mineralité at its core. A stupendous wine from Durantou that oozes class and will give at least a decade’s worth of drinking pleasure. Drink 2021-2036.

The 2016 La Chenade is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc from Denis Durantou's estate in Lalande-de-Pomerol. It was picked 24-29 September for the Merlot and 6 October for the Cabernet Franc at 39 hectoliters per hectare and then matured in 40% new oak. It has a lovely nose that needed some coaxing from the glass, eventually revealing black cherries and touches of bergamot with Earl Grey following later. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, fresh right from the start, very harmonious with an elegant, quite minerally finish. Very elegant, very suave, very promising. Drink: 2020-2032.

The 2016 La Chenade offers a striking interplay of sweet red berry/plum fruit, blood orange, mint and exotic spice. Cabernet Franc aromatics are super-expressive in this pliant, mid-weight Lalande de Pomerol, with rose petal, star anise and savory herb overtones that emerge in the glass. A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, the 2016 La Chenade exhibits aromas of plum, rose petals and spices followed by hints of oak. It’s medium to full-bodied and supple, with delicate tension on the finish. This wine is slightly more imposing than the 2019 vintage but seduces with its supple and velvety tannins. La Chenade is een overheerlijke en vriendelijk geprijsde Lalande de Pomerol. Niemand minder dan de briljante Denis Durantou van Château L'Eglise Clinet in Pomerol is ervoor verantwoordelijk.
