De 2016 van het Belgische Château de Bel Air is een consequente, heerlijke Lalande de Pomerol: de gevleugelde eerste indruk en het veelbelovend parfum wordt feilloos in de mond verdergezet. Wat volgt is dan ook mooi, aangenaam en evenwichtig. De heerlijke intensiteit overtuigt met zachtheid en precisie. 2016 Château de Bel Air is bijzonder volmaakt en aanbevolen.

The 2016 Château de Bel-Air, from the Lalande de Pomerol estate, has an attractive, straightforward, very open bouquet of strawberry jam, raspberry and hints of vanilla, revealing a touch of orange blossom with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with soft tannin and plenty of red fruit, yet there is a nagging greenness in the background that juts out on the finish, as if a single underripe vat sneaked into the final blend. Therefore I remain prudent with my score for now. Drink 2020-2025.

The 2016 Bel-Air (Lalande de Pomerol) is bright, perfumed and beautifully lifted. Medium in body and lithe, this understated Lalande de Pomerol makes its case with energy and persistence rather than size. Vibrant red fruit and floral overtones give the 2016 its chiseled feel. Drink 2019-2026.

Blended of 73% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, the medium garnet-purple colored 2016 de Bel-Air gives up a very fruity nose of crushed plums, kirsch and black cherry compote with hints of potpourri, tilled soil and fallen leaves. Medium-bodied, the palate is laden with juicy plums and cherry flavors plus a pleasant chewy texture, finishing on a savory note. Drink 2019-2031.
