Elevage in 85% nieuwe eik. Er worden 22.000 heerlijke flessen geproduceerd. 2016 is een succes voor Moulin Saint Georges... Geniet van deze prachtige Saint Emilion!

IN DE PERS

92+ Neal Martin – vinous.com (Januari 2019)
The 2016 Moulin Saint-Georges has a beguiling, pure black cherry and bilberry bouquet that develops subtle pressed iris scents with time. The oak (85% new) is very well integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and vanilla-y red berry fruits that gently grip the palate, leading to an almost candied finish. This feels long and tender, maybe without the grip of its Vauthier stablemate Haut-Simard, but with very good length. Superb. Drink 2022-2040.

90-92 Neal Martin – The Wine Advocate Issue #230 - robertparker.com (April 2017)
The 2016 Moulin St Georges is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc picked from 11-15 October and matured in 85% new oak. This has a slightly lighter and airy bouquet than the Haut Simard, perhaps a touch of more austere compared to the 2015 last year. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, juicy tannin that belie the structure underneath. There is just a touch of tightness here, expected at this nascent juncture, quite linear towards the finish, yet there is good persistence here. On par with the 2015 for sure, although we have to wait and see whether it will be better. Drink: 2021-2038.

91 Antonio Galloni – vinous.com (Januari 2019)
The 2016 Moulin Saint-Georges is a flashy, voluptuous wine. Inky blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice, menthol and white flowers are all generous in this pliant, fruity Saint-Georges. The balance of fruit and the freshness conferred by some of the north-facing parcels on the property make for a super-expressive, complete wine. The 2016 is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Drink it over the next decade or so. Drink 2018-2026.

88-91 Antonio Galloni – vinous.com (April 2017)
The 2016 Moulin Saint-Georges is a soft, supple Saint Émilion that will drink well pretty much upon release. Understated and gracious, the 2016 offers lovely purity from start to finish. Sweet floral notes add striking aromatic lift to a wine that is built on length and persistence as opposed to size. Even at this early stage, Moulin Saint-Georges is absolutely delicious.

93+ Lisa Perrotti-Brown - robertparker.com (December 2018)
A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Moulin Saint-Georges is a little closed to begin, sporting subtle notes of baked cherries, mulberries and fresh plums with touches of cedar chest, pencil shavings and bay leaves. Medium-bodied, the oak is a tad apparent at this youthful stage, lending a chewy nature to the texture yet with a great intensity of vibrant, youthful fruit to match, finishing with plenty of red fruit sparks. Drink 2020-2034.

90-91 James Suckling – jamessuckling.com (Maart 2017)
A deep and pretty wine with lovely texture and fruit. Medium body, fine tannins and a savory finish. Delicate.

93 Jane Anson – decanter.com (April 2017)
This is utterly gorgeous as ever, and it must be one of the most consistent deliveries out of the big names on the right bank, showing lively, fresh and juicy black fruits. Maybe a little soft on the finish, but hard not to love this. 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc in the blend, with a yield of 30hl/ha, naturally low due to mildew. Drink: 2025-2045.

16,5/20 Jancis Robinson – jancisrobinson.com (April 2017)
Some richness of fruit - and lots of sweetness - with a tightness on the end.

91 Tim Atkin – timatkin.com (April 2017)
The best of the “lesser” wines in the Ausone stable in 2016, partly because it is more sensitively oaked, this is fine, floral and comparatively forward in style, with red berry fruit, notes of tobacco and baking spices and a fresh, elegant finish. 2020-28

94 Jeannie Cho Lee – jeanniecholee.com (April 2017)
No. 9 in Top 10 Great Value 2016 Bordeaux. I have always been a fan of the Moulin St-Georges and this is a great vintage for the wine. The vines are 30 years old and the blend is 80% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc. Layered, intense and beautifully composed with wonderful freshness and concentration; this is a lovely red for aging at least a decade in your cellar.

Moulin Saint Georges
