Wijnen

Bleek stroogeel met frisse florale toetsen, citrus en meloen alsook herinneringen aan amandel. Roero Arneis is een heerlijke droge witte wijn met allure: hij is evenwichtig en voorzien van goede complexiteit en een speelse finale met elegante accenten van perziksteentjes en citroenbloesem. Serveer hem vlijtig als een aperitief of bij lichte hors-d'oeuvres, salades, zeevruchten, lichte soepjes, of eenvoudige preparaties van kalfsvlees, varkensvlees, kip of cremeuze kazen.

Arneis was een inheemse Piemontese witte druif die haast was uitgeroeid voor Alfredo Currado van Vietti ze uit de vergetelheid haalde. 50 jaar geleden begon hij de heraanplantingen; vandaag is Arneis dank zij hem weer helemaal terug in de Roero. Alfredo Currado wordt terecht aanzien als de "Vader van de Arneis".

De vijfentwintig jaar oude wijngaarden, gelegen nabij Santo Stefano Roero, worden doorgaans op half september geplukt. Om wat natuurlijke CO2 te bewaren na fermentatie gebeurt de alcoholische gisting op inox en aan een lagere temperatuur van 10-12°C.
