G Acte 8 = enthousiasme (en veel hard werk)! Sinds 2014 komt alle Cabernet Franc uit de “sélection massale” van Lafleur's oude Bouchet-percelen. Het stralend fruit is verwoven in heerlijk zachte tannine en de precisie en finesse is zodanig dat we kunnen besluiten dat het potentieel van G als “grote wijn in wording” hiermee is gerealiseerd! Bravo aan Baptiste en Julie Guinaudeau voor deze glansprestatie. Grandioos en bijzonder aanbevolen. IN DE PERS 94 Neal Martin - vinous.com (Augustus 2019) The 2016 Acte 8 is a little more intensity on the nose compared to the Acte 6 with layers of blackberry, briary, touches of blueberry and violet. This is extremely precise and extremely pure. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannin, more rondeur than the 2015 and exceptional harmony and poise. This seems to shimmer with energy – displayed just the right amount of sappiness to urge another sip. Tasted at the Acte vertical in London. Drink 2021-2035. 92 Neal Martin - vinous.com (Januari 2019) The 2016 L’Acte 8 de G has an inky purple color. The bouquet is very generous but beautifully defined, featuring blackberry, bilberry, wild hedgerow and undergrowth scents and seeming to gain intensity in the glass with each swirl. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, svelte tannins and finely pitched acidity, maybe less rustic than previous Actes and presenting a more sensual, caressing finish that neatly disguises the backbone. This is very impressive. Drink 2022-2040. 94+ Antonio Galloni – vinous.com (Januari 2019) The 2016 Acte 8 is fabulous. The 2016 literally soars out of the glass with a stunning range of aromatics. Rose petal, blood orange, pomegranate, mint and sweet raspberry are all vivid. Once again, I am totally blown away by the purity of the flavors. Even with all of its intensity, the 2016 retains terrific freshness and energy. Most of the clonal material now is from Lafleur. With their 2016, the Guinaudeau family challenges many of the preconceptions of what Fronsac is and can be. This is a stunning wine. Drink 2024-2031. 92-95 Antonio Galloni – vinous.com (April 2017) The 2016 L'Acte 8 is another tremendous wine from the Guinaudeau family's Fronsac estate. Rich, sumptuous and inviting, the 2016 hits all the right notes. The purity of the fruit here is mind-blowing, but the wine is equally captivating for its textural beauty. I am not sure how the 2016 will age, but today it is a total pleasure bomb. 94+ Lisa Perrotti-Brown - robertparker.com (December 2018) A blend of 52% Merlot and 48% Cabernet Franc, the medium garnet-purple colored 2016 Acte 8 offers up understated, composed blackberries, mulberries and warm plums notions with touches of tobacco, tilled soil, allspice, pencil shavings and underbrush. Medium-bodied, the palate defies your expectations of restraint with wonderful vivacity and tons of bright red and black fruit sparks, supported by firm, grainy tannins and finishing on a pensive minerally note. 93-94 James Suckling – jamessuckling.com (Maart 2017) This is really excellent with a wonderful depth of fruit and fleshy density. Full, round and juicy. Lots of fruit and spices. Try it. 16,5/20 Jancis Robinson – jancisrobinson.com (April 2017) Warmer clay limestone soils than Ch Grand Village (same owners). New parcels coming in. 48% Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Franc selected from Lafleur. Other parcels from Grand Village in Fronsac. The symbol that looks like a G is the sign for irony apparently! Deep crimson. Fragrant and sophisticated nose. Sweet start and round and lots of freshness. Lots of structure and ambition. Slightly inky at this stage. Distinctive. Unlike anything else. Violets? Sort of the perfect Frontonnais?
