IN DE PERS

92 Antonio Galloni – vinous.com (Maart 2020)
The 2017 Barbera d'Alba Vigna Scarrone is a rich, powerful wine. Sweet tobacco, cedar, licorice and wild red cherry add striking aromatic nuance. Once an inky, dark wine, Scarrone has become more refined in recent years, which also means it is a bit less immediate, but will be more nuanced in time. There is certainly plenty to look forward to here. Drink 2022-2032.

The Vietti 2017 Barbera d'Alba Vigna Scarrone is defined by a spot of sweetness backed by generous layers of dried blackberry, plum and black cherry. This vintage offers a generous level of intensity that is soft and almost succulent in character. There is so much primary fruit in this wine, but the complexity and the varietal character of the grape remain beautifully intact nonetheless. Exactly 11,916 bottles and 175 magnums were made, as you will see written on the front label. Drink 2020-2028.
This is the finest, most complete set of wines I have ever tasted from Vietti. Congratulations.

Vietti

Hard to go wrong with anything they make.
Antonio Galloni - vinousmedia.com

I have been purchasing Vietti wines since the 1971 vintage, and they never disappointed…
In top vintages, these big-styled Barolos easily last three decades or more.

Currado

If forced to inhabit a desert island that only served the wines of a single producer, I would want Luca Currado to be that supplier. He excels at everything he does from his castle perch at the heart of Castiglione Falletto.
