Die smakelijke densiteit danken we aan de prachtige grain de tannin en de fraîcheur doet daar een heerlijke impressie van zuiverheid bovenop. De gulle charme is dus opulent maar behoudt het nobel karakter bovendien eigen aan dit historisch waardevol terroir. We hadden het geluk dit zelf te verifiëren eind juni 2020. Neal Martin – vinous.com (Juni 2020) The 2019 Latour à Pomerol was picked between 18 and 24 September and matured in 40% new oak. It has an "airy" bouquet with black cherries, touches of blueberry and violets, gaining intensity over 10-15 minutes. The oak is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, quite dense in the mouth, solid and square. It misses some flair and charm on the finish, a shortcoming put in sharp relief when juxtaposed against J-P Moueix's more successful crus in 2019. Very saline, increasingly so in the glass. 94 Antonio Galloni – vinous.com (Februari 2022) The 2019 Latour à Pomerol is just as impressive from bottle as it was from barrel, if not more so. Creamy and expansive, the 2019 opens beautifully in the glass. Bright acids red fruit, blood orange, tar, gravel and spice build effortlessly with a bit of time. The 2019 is a wonderfully complete, polished Pomerol that will provide pleasure for many years to come. Succulent dark cherry and red plum fruit give the 2019 tons of appeal. Tar, graphite, rose petal, menthol and dark spice overtones add layers of gravitas over time, with muscular tannins that build into a crescendo of aromas, flavors and textures. De wijngaard is gelegen ten Zuiden van La Grave en ten Noordwesten van Trotanoy, en was eigendom van de eigenaars van Petrus. Latour à Pomerol 1947 en 1961 verdienen een perfecte parkerscore. Ce charmant château, qui tire son nom de la petite tour rattachée à la bâtisse, est proche de l’Eglise de Pomerol. Acquis en 1917 par Madame Loubat, alors à la tête de Pétrus, sa nièce, Madame Lacoste, en fut l’heureuse propriétaire pendant 40 ans, avant de le donner à la Fondation des Foyers de Charité de Châteauneuf de Galaure en 2002. Les Etablissements Jean-Pierre Moueix l’ont en fermage depuis 1962. MoueixChristian Moueix is net zoals zijn legendarische vader, Jean-Pierre Moueix, vereenzelvigd met Pomerol. Na zijn studies aan UC Davis eind de jaren 1960, vervoegde hij de Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix waarvan hij de leiding nam. Zijn zoon Edouard staat nu aan zijn zijde. Hij bestuurt een indrukwekkend imperium dat ondermeer La Fleur Pétrus, Trotanoy en Hosanna omvat in Pomerol, Bélair Monange in Saint Emilion en Dominus in Napa Valley.
