Bravo!

IN DE PERS

93 Neal Martin – vinous.com (Februari 2022)
The 2019 Bourgneuf has a lovely, winsome bouquet of beautifully defined raspberry and black currant aromas plus hints of undergrowth, black truffle and sage, all very detailed. The medium-bodied palate is quite structured and grippy yet has the acidity to maintain tension from start to finish, and there’s plenty of sapid red fruit here. A superb Pomerol that should give 20+ years of drinking pleasure. Drink 2026-2039.

92-94 Neal Martin – vinous.com (Juni 2020)
The 2019 Bourgneuf was picked from 19 to 30 September and matured in 35% new oak. It has a pretty bouquet, refined and pure with blackberry, briary and touches of orange blossom. This is very well defined, the aromatics do not try to over-reach themselves. The palate is crisp on the entry with crunchy red fruit, tertiary in style, hints of truffle, brine and black pepper towards the finish. There is a "natural swagger" about this Bourgneuf, probably earlier drinking than other Pomerols, yet with breeding and class from the Vayron family. Tasted twice with consistent notes. Drink 2023-2038.

93 Antonio Galloni – vinous.com (Februari 2022)
The 2019 Bourgneuf is another gorgeous wine from the Vayron family. Classy and polished from the very first taste, Bourgneuf has all the creaminess and texture it did en primeur, but with a bit more energy and tension backing it all up. In recent years, Bourgneuf seems to have a touch more volume, but it remains a wonderfully understated, classy Pomerol. Hints of red/purplish fruit, rose petal, new leather and cinnamon linger. Drink 2026-2039.

91-93 Antonio Galloni – vinous.com (Juni 2020)
The 2019 Bourgneuf is classy and polished in the understated style that is the norm here. Dark cherry, plum and espresso come together in a soft, creamy wine with gorgeous texture, radiance and suppleness to match its classic mid-weight personality. Bourgneuf is never a big Pomerol, but rather a wine that speaks to balance and harmony, both of which it has in spades. The 2019 is classy as always, silky, and nuanced.

90+ William Kelley - robertparker.com (April 2022)
A little shy out of the gates, the 2019 Bourgneuf offers up rich aromas of dark berry fruit, asphalt, loamy soil and new oak. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and lively, with powdery tannins and good length on the finish, it will require a bit of patience. Drink 2023-2042.

89-91+ Lisa Perrotti-Brown – robertparker.com (Juni 2020)
The 2019 Bourgneuf has a deep garnet-purple color, opening with notes of sautéed herbs, woodsmoke and damp earth over a core of baked plums, warm blackberries and raspberry leaves plus a waft of tapenade. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a rock-solid structure of firm, chewy tannins and bold freshness supporting the muscular black and blue fruits, finishing with an herbal lift.

93 Jane Anson – decanter.com (Juni 2020)
Concentrated and controlled cassis fruits. Violet edged ruby colour, this has noticeable grip running through the palate and lush tannins. There is austerity evident on the close of play with tannins that are serious and slightly chewy. Brilliant stuff from a vineyard located right next to Trotanoy. Drink 2027-2040.

16,5/20 James Lawther MW – jancisrobinson.com (Juni 2020)
For a second-tier Pomerol, there’s a serious, complex note to this wine. Definitely has drive, the fruit layered but juicy and the tannins ripe but firm behind. Finishes with a dry, minerally edge. GV? Drink 2026-2038.

93-94 James Suckling – jamessuckling.com (Juni 2020)
So much blueberry and black-olive character here with concentration of fruit and powerful yet polished tannins. Chewy and juicy.

Bourgneuf
