Dit is één van de meest verrassende wijnen van 2019. Jarenlang was dit eigendom van de familie van Michel Rolland, totdat Monsieur Pan SuTong van de Goldin-groep in Hong Kong Le Bon Pasteur kocht in 2013. Het terroir van 6,6 hectare is een mosaïek van 21 percelen. Er is zand, er zijn graves, er is klei en zelfs crasse de fer. Dit alles is beplant met 80% Merlot en voor de rest "ouwe", eerbiedwaardige Cabernet Franc. Aromatische complexiteit maakt van deze wijn een plotse winnaar in 2019. Benoît Prévôt is er de manager. De Rolland-werkwijze blijft behouden en gourmandise in zwart fruit blijft het doel. Vinificatie op barrique blijft hier de norm. Zowaar: deze 2019 mag er zeker zijn, want zijn exuberantie wordt vooruitgeholpen door de frisse, zuivere eigenschappen van 2019. Méér nog: de onctuosité van dit nectaar is verbluffend mooi omwille van die fraîcheur. Le Bon Pasteur lijkt mij dus een overduidelijk succes die iedereen in fine zal verrassen. Bravo! IN DE PERS 94-96 Neal Martin – vinous.com (Juni 2020) The 2019 Le Bon Pasteur is different in style to previous vintages, and I mean that in a positive sense. This is very elegant and classic in style, pure dark cherry and blueberry fruit entwined with a touch of truffle. The palate is well balanced with gentle grip, slightly chalky in texture with well judged acidity, harmonious with a creamier finish, a hint of salted liquorice lingering on the aftertaste. Excellent. Tasted three times with consistent notes. Drink 2024-2045. 91-93 Antonio Galloni – vinous.com (Juni 2020) The 2019 Le Bon Pasteur is super elegant and refined. Bright floral and spice notes meld into a core of ripe red cherry, pomegranate and blood orange fruit. Medium in body, with plush fruit and soft curves, Le Bon Pasteur is very pretty and expressive in 2019. This is a terrific showing. 92-94+ Lisa Perrotti-Brown – robertparker.com (Juni 2020) The 2019 Bon Pasteur sports a deep garnet-purple color, charging out of the glass with bold blackberry pie, blueberry preserves and prunes notes followed by hints of cedar chest, Ceylon tea, Indian spices and licorice with a waft of violets. Muscular. 94-96 Jeff Leve – winecellarinsider.com (Juni 2020) Black cherry, chocolate, flowers, wet earth and licorice are all over the place. This wine is about the sexy, supple, seductive textures and the long, opulent, sensuous finish that does not quit.
