Olifantsrivier. Sémillon planted in 1930. Deze wijngaard beplant méér dan 90 jaar oude Sémillon Blanc en Sémillon Gris is gelegen op Trekpoort Kloof. Eben Sadie Kokerboom, also being from the Clanwilliam Mountains, had the same very low production numbers on already very limited yields. Here we find the purity of fresh fruit flavors and mineral qualities with some waxy aromas with lime, green apple and riper pear aromatics on the edge of the expression. The acidity and tannin balance is possibly one of the best of equilibriums we have had in this wine in years. The fermentation again took 8 months and the freshness of the bottled wine is remarkable. Unfortunately, the quantities are the problem and our best advice is to share the wine with others! IN DE PERS 94 Anthony Mueller - robertparker.com (Juni 2022) A pale gold color in the glass, the 2020 Old Vine Series Kokerboom is clean and citrus-driven and offers up aromas of lanolin wax and sea spray. The wine possesses a delightful action in the mouth. The piercing citrus tones effortlessly glide across the palate with a mineral-driven backbone that intensifies over the somersaulting, winding and long finish. Bravo! Drink 2022-2042.
