It delivers a compelling bouquet with black fruit, crushed stone, iris flower, light sea spray scents, freshly tilled loam. Wonderful precision. The palate is medium-bodied with finely-sculpted tannins, a perfectly-judged line of acidity, discretely building towards a mineral-rich finish. I can see this just closing down for a period, so keep a cellar handy. Drink 2027-2050. 94-96 Neal Martin – vinous.com (Mei 2021) The 2020 La Fleur-Pétrus has an engaging, complex nose that you want to just keep... well, nosing. It offers a maze of black cherry, bilberry, crushed rock, freshly rolled tobacco and light marine aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with blackberry, cracked black pepper, sea salt and light briny notes. This is quite a serious La Fleur-Pétrus; in fact, it’s not a million miles away from the 2020 Trotanoy. It will deserve cellaring for several years but will be worth waiting for. Drink 2027 – 2050. 95 Antonio Galloni – vinous.com (Februari 2023) The 2020 La Fleur-Pétrus is a gorgeous, polished wine. Super-ripe red cherry, plum, blood orange and pomegrenate lend tons of immediacy and primary fruit character. Suave on the palate, with exquisite length, La Fleur-Pétrus is a wine of total sensuality. In 2020, ripeness is pushed to the edge, while the new oak is a bit present. Bright acids ans sweet floral notes linger on the long, beautifully delineated finish. This is a bit more extroverted than I remember en primeur, but superb just the same. Drink 2030-2060. 94-96 Antonio Galloni – vinous.com (Mei 2021) The 2020 La Fleur-Pétrus is wonderfully elegant and polished. Fine tannins give the 2020 its sophisticated feel. Succulent red cherry, cedar, tobacco, smoke and dried herbs all build. A whole range of floral, savory and mineral notes infuse the finish with tons of character. Medium in body and persistent, with real linear energy, the 2020 is all class. La Fleur-Pétrus is, above all else, a wine of understatement and elegance. The frame is both tactile and fresh, a brilliant La Fleur Petrus full of character and spice, bedded down but with a sense of energy and uplift. Black chocolate shavings shot through with eucalyptus, sage, rosemary, spices and cigar box - all of which really extend through the finish. Harvest September 10 to 20. A yield of around 42hl/ha. Drinking Window 2028 – 2045. 96 William Kelley - robertparker.com (April 2023) Unwinding in the glass with aromas of minty blackberries, loamy soil, black truffles and petroleum jelly, the 2020 La Fleur-Pétrus is full-bodied, ample and enveloping, with a rich, layered core of fruit framed by supple, polished tannins, concluding with a broad, licorice-inflected finish. As in 2019, it outshines Trotanoy as the star of the Mouiex Pomerol portfolio. Drink 2025-2045. 95-97 Lisa Perrotti-Brown – robertparker.com (Mei 2021) Very deep purple-black colored, the 2020 la Fleur-Petrus leaps from the glass with bold expressions of baked black plums, molten licorice, Indian spices and blackberry preserves, plus hints of charcuterie, black olives and crushed rocks with a touch of unsmoked cigars. The full-bodied palate delivers compelling tension to the rich, hedonic black fruits, framed by firm, grainy tannins, finishing very long and tantalizingly savory. It’s full-bodied and layered and broadens in the mouth. Gorgeous, ripe tannins. Long and thought-provoking. A milestone for the vineyard. 100 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com (April 2023) The finest vintage from this address I've ever tasted, as well as a perfect wine, the 2020 Château La Fleur-Petrus reveals a dense purple hue to go with a deep, layered, full-bodied, yet flawlessly balanced style carrying a smorgasbord-like array of red and black fruits, chocolate, dried flowers, spicy oak, and damp earth. It's not a powerhouse in the style of Trotanoy, Vieux Château Certain, or say, Clinet, but is all about finesse, elegance, and complexity. A great expression of the vineyard, a most beautiful La Fleur Pétrus! 2035–60+. La Fleur PétrusLa Fleur Pétrus is cultwijn voor ‘s werelds fijnste neuzen en collectionneurs. Vooral sinds 1998 stijgt de kwaliteit gestaag met 2010 als voorlopig hoogtepunt. De wijngaard heeft op vandaag een critische massa van 18,7 hectare, beplant met 90% Merlot en 10% Cabernet Franc. Er wordt 40 à 50% nieuwe eik gebruikt. De productie bereikt zo’n 3.750 kisten per jaar. De eigenaars zijn Christian en Edouard Moueix en de wijnmaker is Eric Murisasco. Het Château produceert geen tweede wijn. Er zijn sporen van het gehucht Lafleur in 1289, maar de wijngaard werd pas gedoopt in het midden van de XIXde Eeuw door de eigenaarsfamilie Arnaud, die ook Petrus bezat. Sinds de legendarische Jean-Pierre Moueix in 1953 La Fleur Petrus kocht, startte een stille revolutie die Pomerol tot de wereldtop bracht. In 1994 voegde zijn zoon Christian daar “une délicieuse butte graveleuse” van Le Gay aan toe, dat centraal gelegen was op het plateau. Kleinzoon Edouard kocht enkele hectare “Graves profondes” bij, gelegen nabij Le Pin, ten Zuiden van het plateau. Providence, een wijngaard aangekocht in 2005, wordt voortaan ook selectief opgenomen in het ensemble. Sluitstuk werd een perceel nabij de kerk van Pomerol en een bijhorend, elegant gebouw dat vanaf juli 2013 het nieuw Château La Fleur Pétrus werd. Op enkele jaar tijd groeide La Fleur Pétrus van 9 tot 18,7 hectare en werd zo een toonaangevende entiteit binnen Pomerol. Met de edele “blauwe” kleigronden van Petrus als tegenpool, moet La Fleur Pétrus de vaandeldrager worden van de Graves van Pomerol. MoueixChristian Moueix is net zoals zijn legendarische vader, Jean-Pierre Moueix, vereenzelvigd met Pomerol. Na zijn studies aan UC Davis eind de jaren 1960, vervoegde hij de Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix waarvan hij de leiding nam. Zijn zoon Edouard staat nu aan zijn zijde. Hij bestuurt een indrukwekkend imperium dat ondermeer La Fleur Pétrus, Trotanoy en Hosanna omvat in Pomerol, Bélair Monange in Saint Emilion en Dominus in Napa Valley.
