Deze ware krachtpatser van 2019 bevestigt zijn status als eeuwige favoriet van ons cliënteel. Hun/uw goede smaak is inmiddels gekend  en de reputatie van La Fleur Petrus evenzeer zoals het vaandel op het etiket belooft. De neus herinnert aan grote Port en die suavité wordt consequent herhaald doorheen de crescendo opgebouwde proefervaring die weergaloos charmeert in rijpe rijkelijkheid. Het is een V12 zoals ze niet meer gemaakt worden in de auto-industrie. Deze nu nog gebalde La Fleur Petrus is vooral stevig onderbouwd. Het assemblage van 92% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc en 3% Petit Verdot, geplukt tussen 17 september en 3 oktober, reveleert de fenomenale persistentie die wij komen te verwachten. Hij wordt hieronder beschreven als "mercurial", superb" en "somptuous" en dit klopt volkomen. Zijn succes heeft iets napoleontisch. Een wijn om te koesteren maar die vele harten zal veroveren vanaf 2022-2024 en jarenlang zal imponeren als een allegro vol entrain! 18,7 hectare op diepe witte en kleihoudende graves.IN DE PERS 97 Neal Martin – vinous.com (Februari 2022) The 2019 La Fleur-Pétrus has an entrancing bouquet that demands your attention, delivering a mixture of red and black fruit, licorice, fresh fig and potpourri. The oak here is beautifully integrated. The palate is very harmonious, with ripe, succulent tannins that frame the concentrated black cherry and red plum fruit, and a dash of white pepper and sage, fanning out wonderfully toward the finish. It’s almost like a slightly toned-down version of the Hosanna. This exceeds my expectations. A brilliant Pomerol. Drink 2026-2050. 94-96 Neal Martin – vinous.com (Juni 2020) The 2019 La Fleur-Pétrus underwent double sorting, optical and manual, after harvest between 17 September and 3 October. It is matured in 50% new oak. It has a gorgeous bouquet with expressive red and black fruit, intermixed with crushed stone, freshly shaved black truffle and a touch of blue fruit perhaps originating from the 3% Petit Verdot. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, gently grippy tannins, undercurrents of tobacco and earth towards the finish. It actually ends more cerebrally than I anticipated, quite mercurial in the glass. This will require several years in bottle, but it will surely be worth the wait. Superb! Trotanoy and perhaps also Hosanna have traditionally been viewed as more exclusive Pomerols in the Moueix portfolio. The more time passes, the less I share that view. Sure, La Fleur-Pétrus does not have the mystique associated from a small single vineyard - as many Pomerols do - and yet there is no denying the elegance and class here. Bright red fleshed fruit, blood orange and exotic spice race across the palate, framed by silky, plush tannins that wrap it all together. La Fleur-Pétrus is fabulous. That's all there is to it. Drink 2029-2059. 93-95 Antonio Galloni – vinous.com (Juni 2020) The 2019 La Fleur-Pétrus is explosive and heady in the glass. A rush of wild flowers, spice, mocha and licorice gives the 2019 an exotic feel that resonate on the palate, where the wine is rich, ripe and flamboyant. With a bit of aeration, the 2019 shows its shoulders and persistence. I would be in no hurry here, there is plenty still left to come as the tannins soften. I never put stock in numbers alone, but the pH of 3.9 is higher than normal while the acidity above 3 is high. "These are very California-style numbers," Christian Moueix commented. 96 William Kelley - robertparker.com (April 2022) The 2019 La Fleur-Pétrus dares to outshine Trotanoy this year, wafting from the glass with aromas of rich berry fruit, plum preserve, dark chocolate, cigar box and spices. Full-bodied, rich and enveloping, it's broad and layered, with beautifully polished tannins, a ripe core of fruit and a seamless, enveloping profile. This is an elegantly muscular, generous Pomerol whose sumptuous personality reflects the warm, dry vintage. Drink 2025-2055. 96 Lisa Perrotti-Brown – thewineindependent.com (May 2022) The 2019 La Fleur Petrus is made from 94% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it features fragrant scents of lilacs, Morello cherries, and tilled soil over a core of black and red plums and boysenberries with a hint of truffles. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is taut and muscular with ripe, rounded tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and mineral-laced. 94-96 Lisa Perrotti-Brown – robertparker.com (Juni 2020) Very deep purple-black in color, the 2019 la Fleur-Petrus soars out of the glass with vibrant notes of freshly crushed black cherries, warm plums and kirsch with underlying suggestions of wild sage, damp soil, charcoal and unsmoked cigars plus just a hint of Sichuan pepper. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a firm frame of ripe, grainy tannins and bags of freshness supporting the muscular black fruits, finishing long and savory. 98 Jane Anson – janeanson.com (Januari 2022) Steps everything up a level, this is a beautiful wine full of promise, nuance and pleasure. Layered with plum, cassis, black truffle, smoked tea, cocoa bean, slate, charcoal, espresso, pencil lead, fresh mint leaf, juicy and restrained. Harvest September 17 to October 3. An upscore from En Primeur, and the first time I have ever rated it higher than Trotanoy at this stage. 97 Jane Anson – decanter.com (Juni 2020) Beautiful aromatics, this sets itself apart from the first nose. The texture is velvety, with a sense of energy and precision that showcases the barest flicks of graceful minerality as it heads through the palate. Seriously enjoyable wine, one to note down in the vintage. It's concentrated, with barreled-down brambled fruit, relatively low acidity compared to the 2018, but it's sumptuous. A yield of 28hl/ha. Drink 2027-2045. 17,5/20 James Lawther MW – jancisrobinson.com (Juni 2020) 92% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. Barrel sample. There’s a lovely purity and refinement in this wine which also has lift and pep. Floral-violet aromatics, the palate smooth and sculpted with super-fine tannins and juicy, engaging fruit. Long, fresh, clean finish. Drink 2028-2044. 98 James Suckling – jamessuckling.com (Januari 2022) So much dried-flower, black-olive, earth and spice character, together with dried fruit, violets and black licorice. Full, yet so fine and linear. It accelerates at the finish, going on and on. A classic beauty. So racy. Best after 2028. 96-97 James Suckling – jamessuckling.com (Juni 2020) This is a genuine, old-school Pomerol with blueberries, wet earth and black tea leaf. It’s full-bodied, yet balanced and beautiful. Traditional and so attractive with a modern tone. 98 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com (April 2022) The 2019 Château La Fleur-Pétrus is a stunning example of what makes a great Pomerol – richness without weight, incredible elegance, complexity, and length, all of which it has in abundance. Giving up darker, powerful aromatics of blackcurrants, darker cherries, tobacco, chocolate, and just hints of spring flowers, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a layered, concentrated, incredibly sexy mouthfeel, perfect tannins, and a great finish. It's one of the most opulent, seamless, impressive wines in the vintage, although it needs at least 7-8 years of bottle age. It should be a 30- to 40-year wine. Bravo! 96-98 Jeff Leve – winecellarinsider.com (Juni 2020) A cornucopia of fragrances here ranging from flowers, black and blue fruits, truffle, smoke, wet earth and kirsch grab your focus. It only takes one sip to hook you with its silky, sexy attitude. Concentrated, opulent, fresh and with vibrancy to the fruits, the opulent character knocked me out. 96-97 Terre de Vins – terredesvins.com (Juni 2020) La Fleur PétrusLa Fleur Pétrus is cultwijn voor ‘s werelds fijnste neuzen en collectionneurs. Vooral sinds 1998 stijgt de kwaliteit gestaag met 2010 als voorlopig hoogtepunt. De wijngaard heeft op vandaag een critische massa van 18,7 hectare, beplant met 90% Merlot en 10% Cabernet Franc. Er wordt 40 à 50% nieuwe eik gebruikt. De productie bereikt zo’n 3.750 kisten per jaar. De eigenaars zijn Christian en Edouard Moueix en de wijnmaker is Eric Murisasco. Het Château produceert geen tweede wijn. Er zijn sporen van het gehucht Lafleur in 1289, maar de wijngaard werd pas gedoopt in het midden van de XIXde Eeuw door de eigenaarsfamilie Arnaud, die ook Petrus bezat. Sinds de legendarische Jean-Pierre Moueix in 1953 La Fleur Petrus kocht, startte een stille revolutie die Pomerol tot de wereldtop bracht. In 1994 voegde zijn zoon Christian daar “une délicieuse butte graveleuse” van Le Gay aan toe, dat centraal gelegen was op het plateau. Kleinzoon Edouard kocht enkele hectare “Graves profondes” bij, gelegen nabij Le Pin, ten Zuiden van het plateau. Providence, een wijngaard aangekocht in 2005, wordt voortaan ook selectief opgenomen in het ensemble. Sluitstuk werd een perceel nabij de kerk van Pomerol en een bijhorend, elegant gebouw dat vanaf juli 2013 het nieuw Château La Fleur Pétrus werd. Op enkele jaar tijd groeide La Fleur Pétrus van 9 tot 18,7 hectare en werd zo een toonaangevende entiteit binnen Pomerol. Met de edele “blauwe” kleigronden van Petrus als tegenpool, moet La Fleur Pétrus de vaandeldrager worden van de Graves van Pomerol. MoueixChristian Moueix is net zoals zijn legendarische vader, Jean-Pierre Moueix, vereenzelvigd met Pomerol. Na zijn studies aan UC Davis eind de jaren 1960, vervoegde hij de Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix waarvan hij de leiding nam. Zijn zoon Edouard staat nu aan zijn zijde. Hij bestuurt een indrukwekkend imperium dat ondermeer La Fleur Pétrus, Trotanoy en Hosanna omvat in Pomerol, Bélair Monange in Saint Emilion en Dominus in Napa Valley.
