IN DE PERS 95 Neal Martin – vinous.com (Februari 2022) The 2019 Feytit-Clinet has a stunning bouquet of pure red fruit, crushed stone and light rose petal scents; a hint of black truffle emerges with time. The palate is medium-bodied with good depth, the 70% new French oak a little more prominent than usual at the moment, though that will be subsumed with time. Very balanced and persistent, this is a bolder style of Feytit, but Jeremy Chasseuil pulls it off. Drink 2024-2050. 94-96 Neal Martin – vinous.com (Juni 2020) The 2019 Feytit-Clinet was cropped at 34hl/ha between 18 September and 3 October and matured in 70% new oak for an expected 16 months. It is understated at first and demands coaxing from the glass. It rewards you with pure black fruit, freshly shaved black truffles and touches of crushed stone. The palate is magnificent: precise tannins, a perfect line of acidity, impressive complexity and amazing focus. Oddly it reminds me of a Lafleur, though there is much less Cabernet Franc here. Unquestionably, this is the best Feytit-Clinet that Jeremy Chasseuil has overseen and I cannot wait to taste it in bottle. Drink 2024-2050. 95 Antonio Galloni – vinous.com (Februari 2022) The 2019 Feytit-Clinet is superb. In most vintages, Feytit-Clinet is one of the more intense and tannic Pomerols. In 2019, though, some of that intensity is dialed down. On the plus side, though, that means the 2019 will drink well with minimal cellaring. Inky dark fruit, licorice, graphite, lavender, dried herbs and rose petal build into the sumptuous, creamy finish. Usually I advise cellaring Feytit-Clinet, but that will be less necessary in 2019. As always, Feytit-Clinet is one of the most distinctive wines in the Right Bank. Drink 2026-2045. 93-95 Antonio Galloni – vinous.com (Juni 2020) One of the most distinctive wines in Pomerol, the 2019 Feytit-Clinet emerges from the glass with a heady concoction of gravel, smoke, licorice, incense, grilled herbs, sweet French oak and inky dark fruit. Virile, imposing and massively constituted, the 2019 possesses tremendous depth as well as persistence. As always, Feytit-Clinet is an especially rich, dense Pomerol. I can't wait to see how it develops. Tasted two times. 93 William Kelley - robertparker.com (April 2022) The 2019 Feytit Clinet delivers aromas of rich, chocolaty berry fruit, plums, fig jam, espresso roast and toasty new oak. Full-bodied, deep and layered, it's muscular and extracted, with broad shoulders, soft acids and plenty of powdery, youthfully chewy tannin, concluding with a heady finish. To my taste, this flirts with over-ripeness; but it held up well over several days in bottle, inclining me to give it the benefit of the doubt. Drink 2021-2035. 93-95+ Lisa Perrotti-Brown – robertparker.com (Juni 2020) The 2019 Feytit Clinet rolls sensuously from the glass with notions of baked plums, Black Forest cake and blueberry preserves with touches of Chinese five spice, potpourri, dusty soil and garrigue. The medium to full-bodied palate bursts with ripe, rich black fruits, supported by plush tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and spicy. This 6.68-hectare vineyard is situated between Trotanoy and Latour à Pomerol on gravel and sand-based soils. 95 Jane Anson – decanter.com (Juni 2020) Some serious structure and lift going on here, this has walls to the tannins rather than just frame, and intends to hold its ground for a good few decades. Not the most exuberant Pomerol in the vintage, instead this goes for controlled but silky black fruits, holding back its coffee bean dusting until the wine has fully opened in the glass. Excellent quality from Jeremy Chasseuil at Feytit-Clinet in this vintage. 70% new oak. A yield of 42 hl/ha. Drink 2026-2044. 95-97 Jeb Dunnuck – jebdunnuck.com (Juni 2020) 95-96 James Suckling – jamessuckling.com (Juni 2020) This is a real beauty with ripe, opulent fruit and plush, polished tannins. It’s focused and tight at the end, but the texture and flavor is of standout quality. 95-97 Jeff Leve – winecellarinsider.com (Juni 2020) This hits you right where it counts with all the truffle, dark chocolate and earthy plums, Good levels of concentration, richness, and velvety tannins make all the dark cocoa, black cherry, plum and truffle that much better. The finish really sticks with you too, coaxing you back for another sip. |
