Op de fijnbesnaarde neus volgt een opmerkelijk verzorgde, zachte smaakervaring die uiterst aangenaam is en door « un filigrane de fraîcheur » richting krijgt. Het volume van recente wijnjaren verwachtten we niet, maar dit is opnieuw een duidelijke statement : Bourgneuf is de laatste jaren duidelijk aan zet ! Knappe Pomerol… Tweemaal geproefd en goed bevonden. IN DE PERS 92 Neal Martin - vinous.com (November 2023) The 2021 Bourgneuf has one of the better sets of aromatics on the nose, wit a sense of brightness, éclat: black cherries intermixed with blueberry, violet and shavings of black truffle. The palate is medium-bodied with a sapid entry and fine depth, quite peppery in style with ample weight and delineation on the finish. Conspiciously spicy on the aftertaste, this is a Pomerol that I would like to have in my cellar. Drink 2025-2040. 91-93 Neal Martin – vinous.com (Mei 2022) The 2021 Bourgneuf was picked September 27 to October 4. It has an attractive nose with bright black cherry and wild strawberry fruit and fine mineralité. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit laced with tobacco and thyme, building nicely toward a cohesive, sappy finish. The 2021 continues a fine run for this Pomerol estate. Drink 2025-2040. 91 Antonio Galloni - vinous.com (December 2023) The 2021 Bourgneuf is a delicate, charming Pomerol. Crushed flowers, spice, red berry fruit and orange peel are all nicely lifted. This is an especially perfumed, mid-weight vintage for Bourgneuf, a wine that has been bigger in the recent past. Drink 2026-2041. 89-91 Antonio Galloni – vinous.com (Mei 2022) The 2021 Bourgneuf is a very pretty and promising wine. Naturally, the 2021 doesn’t have the richness of recent previous editions, but it largely compensates for that with its energy and focus. Hints of red berry fruit, orange peel, cinnamon and crushed rocks lift the finish in this stylish, mid-weight Pomerol. Bourgneuf has been one of Pomerol’s under the radar gems for years. The 2021 is a bit understated at the moment, even for this wine. Let’s see what happens. Tasted two times. Drink 2029-2041. 91+ William Kelley - robertparker.com (Februari 2024) The 2021 Bourgneuf has turned out better than I anticipated, and one senses its proximity to Trotanoy more clearly than was the case from barrel. Exhibiting aromas of sweet berries, cherries and licorice, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, with good depth at the core, framed by sweet structuring tannins. While it will offer plenty of near-term appeal, don't discount its capacity to age. De familie Vayron is er eigenaar sinds 1921, maar een nieuwe generatie komt er nu aan. Jong geweld gekoppeld aan ervaring brengt een opmerkelijk eerste resultaat. De wijngaard omvat 9 hectare klei en graves. Het is schitterend gelegen in het verlengde van Trotanoy en het potentieel lijkt dit jaar zeker gerealiseerd. Oude wijnstokken (90% Merlot en 10% Cabernet Franc) verleenden tot nu toe geconcentreerde wijnen van vrij constante kwaliteit, maar maken nu een nog groter verschil. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
