IN DE PERS 90-92 William Kelley – The Wine Advocate Issue 266 - robertparker.com (April 2023) Aromas of rich berries, cherries, spices and truffles introduce the 2022 Lagrange (Pomerol), a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy wine that's deep and layered, its sweet core of fruit framed by powdery tannins. 89-91 Neal Martin – vinous.com (Mei 2023) The 2022 Lagrange, the Pomerol estate not Saint-Julien, was picked 6-13 September, pure Merlot as usual. Fairly uncomplicated on the nose, one could argue that it feels a little monotone compared to its peers, though its purity of fruit should be applauded. There's almost a minty element to these aromatics. The palate is medium-bodied, and well balanced, with dark chocolate infusing the black fruit. Good weight with ample freshness on the finish. What it lacks in intellectual heft is compensated with a sense of joie-de-vivre. So much better than this estate was producing a decade ago. 90-92 Antonio Galloni – vinous.com (Mei 2023) The 2022 Lagrange is a charming, forward Pomerol, notwithstanding tannins that need élevage to come together. Cedar, sweet pipe tobacco, spice, leather and dried herbs lend notable aromatic presence to this mid-weight, charming Pomerol from the Jean-Pierre Moueix family. Drink 2027-2037. 90-92 Lisa Perrotti-Brown – thewineindependent.com (Mei 2023) Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2022 Lagrange (Pomerol) rolls out of the glass with easy-breezy notes of red currant jelly, black raspberries, and fresh blackberries, followed by suggestions of aniseed and bay leaves. The medium to full-bodied palate is charged with energetic red berry flavors, framed by well-managed, approachable tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with a skip in its step. Juicy and round with an expressive red-fruit aroma and flavour topped by a sliver of oak spice. Supple texture, fine tannins and a bit of length. Honest and pure. Should be GV. Drink 2027– 2034. 95-96 James Suckling – jamessuckling.com (April 2023) Very firm and focused with silky tannins, which are driven and intense. Full-bodied yet reserved and polished. Impressive finish for the estate with chocolate and light coffee bean. Pure merlot. 91 Jane Anson – janeanson.com (Mei 2023) Plum colour with vivid raspberry highlights, gentle oak smoking, run towards an intense wall of tannins and smoked caramel notes, balanced by supple black fruits. The wine is produced from 100% Merlot. Drink from 2025-2035. Lagrange (Pomerol)Lagrange situeert zich op de noordelijke kant van het plateau van Pomerol. Deze wijngaard van 4,7 hectare is beplant met 95% Merlot en heeft illustere buren met Trotanoy ten Noorden en La Grave ten Noordoosten. Hij deelt met hen een gelijkaardig terroir. Lagrange is ware Pomerol en blijft de stevige, ronde en gulle favoriet van vele klanten. Er is nooit genoeg voor iedereen... MoueixChristian Moueix is net zoals zijn legendarische vader, Jean-Pierre Moueix, vereenzelvigd met Pomerol. Na zijn studies aan UC Davis eind de jaren 1960, vervoegde hij de Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix waarvan hij de leiding nam. Zijn zoon Edouard staat nu aan zijn zijde. Hij bestuurt een indrukwekkend imperium dat ondermeer La Fleur Pétrus, Trotanoy en Hosanna omvat in Pomerol, Bélair Monange in Saint Emilion en Dominus in Napa Valley.
