IN DE PERS 95-97 Lisa Perrotti-Brown – thewineindependent.com (Mei 2023) The 2022 Hosanna is a blend of 74% Merlot and 26% Cabernet Franc, sporting a deep garnet-purple color. After a swirl or two the most gorgeous perfume of red roses, juicy black cherries, and black raspberries erupts from the glass, followed by wafts of crushed rocks, cast iron pan, and unsmoked cigars. The full-bodied palate is very tightly wound with loads of bright red and black fruit layers, framed by ripe, fine-grained tannins and beautiful freshness, finishing long and perfumed. Beautiful. 17+/20 Jancis Robinson – jancisrobinson.com (Mei 2023) 74% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Franc. Cask sample. Discreet but complex. Red-fruit fragrance with a floral nuance. Tannins ripe and long providing a smooth-textured feel. Clean, long finish. Not the most exuberant but plenty of substance. Drink 2030– 2045. 98-99 James Suckling – jamessuckling.com (April 2023) Wow. This is an incredibly structured Hosanna with tannin tension and density, yet resilience and verve. Full and dense while being weightless and bright at the end. Thought-provoking contrasts. Old vine magic. One for the cellar. 74% merlot and 26% cabernet franc. 95 Jane Anson – janeanson.com (Mei 2023) Black chocolate and espresso on first hit, this is measured, enjoyable, slowly and carefully builds in drama through the palate, highly charged but with balance and a kick of slate. The body of the wine centres around cassis, bilberry, rosemary, turmeric, an edge of exoticism with a welcome shot of freshness. A muscular wine, fully capable to supporting the intensity of the vintage. Harvest September 5 to 19, 4.5ha. 94-96 Jeb Dunnuck – jebdunnuck.com (Mei 2023) The 2022 Château Hosanna comes from iron-rich, blue clay soils and is 74% Merlot and 26% Cabernet Franc that was harvest between the 5th and 19th of September. It has a perfumed, lifted, floral bouquet of blue fruits, candied violets, orange blossom, and spice. This carries to a full-bodied, rich, concentrated, firm Hosanna with plenty of tannins, good mid-palate depth, and outstanding length. I don't see this matching the truly great vintages from this château, but it's clearly an impressive Pomerol. 96 Georgina Hindle – decanter.com (Mei 2023) Pretty nose, sweet fruits and gorgeous perfumed flowers that makes the scent so inviting. Round, supple and generous, a delicate hand in terms of tannic weight, they are fine with a light but firm grip so you get the promise of power but no weight. Retains a sense of cool classicism with well defined edges and waves of cool blueberries, black cherries and slate. Certainly a more delicate Hosanna than I was expecting with bright acidity, a touch of spice on the mid palate and clean mineral lines to the finish. Shy still but gorgeous promise here. Feels polished and elegant, with a devilish undertone of power. Has that juicy acidity as well that some don't have, the succulence and sense of joy and fun that is so special and appealing. Stands out for it's sense of happiness. Drink 2028-2048. 96-98 Jeff Leve – thewinecellarinsider.com (Mei 2023) This is a great Hosanna! The wine is dark in color, with a boatload of black plums to match. There is richness, concentration, opulence, length, purity, and seemingly non-stop waves of cashmere-textured, black and dark red pit fruits, all touched by chocolate and spices. The harvest took place September 24 - October 6. Drink 2027-2045. 93-95 William Kelley – The Wine Advocate Issue 266 - robertparker.com (April 2023) Offering up aromas of blackberries, minty blackcurrants, licorice and spices, the 2022 Hosanna is full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with a broad, velvety attack that segues into a layered, fleshy mid-palate of ripe but lively fruit that's framed by polished tannins. This is always one of the more extravagant wines in the Mouiex portfolio, but in 2022 its exuberance remains in check. 93-95 Neal Martin – vinous.com (Mei 2023) The 2022 Hosanna was picked from 5-19 September. This is backward, almost surly on the nose. Blackberry, wild mint and light blood orange aromas reluctantly manifest on the nose; iodine touches emerge later. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins that frame the black fruit laced with tobacco and thyme. There is something almost stentorian about this Hosanna, and as such, it will demand a decade in bottle. A serious Pomerol that is a bit saturnine at the moment. I am prudent with my score because I would like a little more finesse. Drink 2029-2050. 94-96 Antonio Galloni – vinous.com (Mei 2023) The 2022 Hosanna is a heady, bombastic wine, as if often is, especially in warmer years. Black fruit, bittersweet chocolate, leather, spice, menthol and tobacco all race out of the glass. There's a good bit of tannin, which makes me think patience will be critical here. Drink 2030-2052. HosannaHosanna werd op korte tijd een ikoon. Het ontstond in 1999 uit het beste perceel van 4,5 hectare van het voormalige Certan Guiraud, waarvan 3,5 in productie in 2022. De ligging, hoog op het plateau van Pomerol, is spectaculair: ten Noorden ligt Lafleur, ten Oosten Petrus en ten Zuiden Vieux Château Certan. Hosanna wordt gemeenzaam omschreven als "de Cheval Blanc van Pomerol" omwille van de 30% Cabernet Franc in de wijngaard. Het trackrecord is nu al "fameux": zo werd het ondermaats bevonden 2002 nooit te koop aangeboden en benadert de 2009 de perfectie. De lat ligt hoog… MoueixChristian Moueix is net zoals zijn legendarische vader, Jean-Pierre Moueix, vereenzelvigd met Pomerol. Na zijn studies aan UC Davis eind de jaren 1960, vervoegde hij de Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix waarvan hij de leiding nam. Zijn zoon Edouard staat nu aan zijn zijde. Hij bestuurt een indrukwekkend imperium dat ondermeer La Fleur Pétrus, Trotanoy en Hosanna omvat in Pomerol, Bélair Monange in Saint Emilion en Dominus in Napa Valley.
