IN DE PERS 91-93 Neal Martin - vinous.com (November 2022) The 2021 Pommard Les Pezerolles 1er Cru has one of the most attractive aromatics amongst de Montille's reds with lively black plum and mulberry fruit, damp undergrowth and light tobacco scents. The palate is well balanced with fine tannins, taut and focused with a little more fruit on the finish compared to the other cuvées. Very fine. Drink 2025-2038. 89-92 Jasper Morris - InsideBurgundy.com (Januari 2023) 35 hl/ha. Full quite deep crimson. One third whole cluster and late malolactic. There is quite deep fruit but it is backward at the moment, a little bit out of kilter between fruit and acidity, possibly a question of the late malolactic. Drink 2026 - 2032. 91 Allen Meadows - Burghound.com (April 2023) From a 1.36 ha holding; 30% whole clusters. A super-fresh, bright, and airy nose freely displays its combination of red berry essence allied with hints of spice, earth, and violet. The vibrant and nicely detailed medium-bodied flavours flash less minerality on the dusty and equally chalky finish. This is very pretty, though it could use more depth, so a few years of keeping should be helpful. Drink from 2029 onward. 16,5+/20 Jancis Robinson - jancisrobinson.com (Januari 2023) Cask sample. Pale crimson. Lightweight for a Pommard but is pretty well constituted. Light and peppery with some length. It may well gain interest. Drink 2027 - 2040. 92 Charles Curtis - Decanter.com (November 2022) This wine’s ripe red and black fruit aromas accented with earth, mineral, and smoke are immediately appealing. Although there is some reduction on the nose, the wine is riper and more resolved than the village-level wine, with silky tannins, balanced acidity, and plenty of depth. The sandy soils bring a silky ripeness to the wine, yet there is enough substance to ensure it will last for decades. The domaine owns two parcels above Petits Epenots in the northern part of the appellation. Drink 2027 - 2050 Domaine de MontilleSinds 1730 kenden 9 generaties de Montille een bewogen geschiedenis. De twee jongste generaties breidden het Domaine weer uit tot 37 hectare (20 rood en 17 wit). De eigenzinnige bewaarwijnen van vader Hubert de Montille werden altijd al gesmaakt. Tegelijk bottelde deze advocaat, overleden in 2014, au Domaine zoals DRC, Roumier of Rousseau en hielp hij de grenzen van Grand Cru en Premier Cru uittekenen. Zoon Etienne innoveerde als eerste met biodynamie. Geïnspireerd door Alix en Jean-Marc Roulot, zijn zus en schoonbroer, bezorgde hij zijn witte wijnen fijnere zuren, lengte en precisie. De rode wijnen werden vlijtiger met meer vinificatie en grappe entière en minder koude pre-fermentatie en pigeage. Na vinificatie op vat verlengden ook de élevages.
